Hundreds of you are still asking about their earlier album 'Tigermilk'. Firstly it does exist, but only in small numbers. A thousand LP's were produced as part of an annual singles project by the Stow College based label Electric Honey Records. But, because Belle and Sebastian had so many songs it was decided that an album would be released instead of a single. The album was recorded in three days in Glasgow's Cava Studios and then mixed in a further two days. Originally it was only available via mail-order though 400 copies found their way to shops. Tigermilk has been sold out since November 1996 and as yet there are no plans to re-issue it.

All of you should by now have your own special copy of 'If You're Feeling Sinister', which you have probably played to near death. The only people who have an excuse for not yet owning a copy are those that live outside of the UK. 'Sinister' is now available on world-wide release through the US label 'The Enclave' and we are told that the cat. No. is 67132 for the CD, the European deal is still being negotiated and we'll let you know as soon as we find out what the cat. No. for Europe is. So we shall spare telling you all about that gem of a record and move swiftly on to the latest creation 'Dog On Wheels'.

'Dog On Wheels' is the first of three planned EP's for this year. It has already received massive airplay on Radio 1 thanks to Jo Whylie (making it single of the week as soon as she laid her hands on a copy.) and Mark Radcliffe amongst others. The EP contains four songs; 'Dog On Wheels', 'The State I Am In (Original demo version)', 'String Bean Jean' and 'Belle & Sebastian'. 'The State I Am In' is the first track on Tigermilk and was featured on John Peel's Festive Fifty. A video for 'Dog On Wheels' has also been made by Stuart David and Stuart Murdoch. Filmed on Super8 in Glasgow it chronicles Stuart's search for his beloved 'Patch' (the dog!) and sees him place adverts in shop windows and asking strangers if they had seen him.

The 'Dog On Wheels' EP is released on May 12th by Jeepster Records. It will be available on 7", 12" and CD. All formats feature 'Dog On Wheels' and 'The State I Am In' whilst the 12" and CD will also include 'String Bean Jean' and 'Belle & Sebastian'. It should be readily available everywhere but for the benefit of those who live too far from a good record store here are the catalogue numbers and distributor details. The cat. No. for the 7" is JPR7001, 12" - JPR12001 and CD - JPRCDS001. It is available from 3MV through Vital Distribution. That should be enough information for you to order the one you want if the shop fails to stock it.
